# Cala Galdana

Cala Galdana is in Ferreries on Menorca’s south coast. The catalogue lists white sand, an approximate length of 450 metres and a walk of about 6 minutes from the nearest parking area or bus stop.

A horseshoe bay at the mouth of the Algendar gorge, ringed by hotels but still striking. Calm, shallow and fully serviced, it is a good base for walks to the wilder coves either side.

## Getting there

Paid parking in the resort fills from early morning and turns over slowly; finding a space at midday is hard. Regular buses run from Ferreries and Ciutadella.

## Where to eat nearby

- El Mirador: On a rocky outcrop over the bay: paella, rice dishes, seafood and Menorcan pork. Book ahead; reviews mention high prices and occasionally slow service

Restaurants and opening hours change by season; check before you go.

## Good to know

- Good for families: sheltered water and every service.
- Use it as a starting point: Cala Mitjana is about 20 minutes on foot, Macarella about an hour.

## Worth combining

- Cala Mitjana and Cala Macarella on the Camí de Cavalls.
- The Algendar gorge (Barranc d’Algendar) inland.
